On being told what your problem is…

Inspired by this post about polyamory , a few random musings…

Yup, any move away from the mainstream will lead to all your problems being blamed on your unconventionality. I seem to recall once sometimes trying to blame my sons mild dispraxia on him being home educated*. Certainly, one of the joys of going to a home ed group is that you can complain about your wonderful, talented, Lake Woebegone-esque children without anyone blaming your problems on home educating (and, with the bunch we have, also without blaming your politics, diet, religious beliefs or even affiliation to different national home ed organisations.)

*He was, at the time, attending sports activities four days a week, so even the idea that he would get more organised physical activity in school was bunk.
